You may not think of Net Optics line of Fiber Taps as a modular solution, but they are.
Consider our Fiber Tap HD8, which has 8 Fiber Taps in 1U by 1/2 high. Not modular?
Well, it is true that all 8 Taps are of a single type of media. But think of it as two
8-Tap modules in 1U (a pictured above), so you could have 8
singlemode Taps and 8
multimode Taps. In fact, you can fit four 8-Tap modules—32 Taps!—in 1U of rack space if
you mount two Fiber Tap HD8 on the front of the rack and two more in the same 1U on the
back side of the rack.
Another factor to consider is that a 10G Fiber Tap HD8 can be used on 1G links as well.
(However, our 1G Fiber Taps may use an OM2 grade fiber rather than OM3, so they are not
recommended for tapping 10G links.) So even a single 10G Fiber Tap HD8 is modular in that
it supports any mix of 10G and 1G links.
If 8 Taps of a single type is not modular enough for you, then look to our line of LC
Fiber Slim Taps. With our RK-8V2 rack-mount frame, 8 single-Tap "modules" can be mixed
and matched in 1U of rack space:
So, whatever you modularity needs are in Fiber Taps, Net Optics has your solution.
